Last year we achieved our best results for the third year in a row. The percentage achieving. 5+ A*-C including English and Maths has rapidly risen from 42% in 2011 to 58% in 2013. We are expecting at least 64% of our young learners to achieve the benchmark this year. I am most proud about the incredible improvement in the progress our students are now making in English and Mathematics. We are now in the top 4% nationally for English and well above the national average in Mathematics. We are deeply satisfied also by the fact that every one of our learners secured an apprenticeship, work place or sixth form college place when they left year 11 last year. We have a strong partnership with Newman College University who continue to encourage our learners to continue their education with them and we are seeing an ever increasing number joining our 6th form. The football coaching academy in our 6th form is massively popular and this year our students will be coaching in some of our feeder schools.
I have been at Dame Elizabeth Cadbury now for just over three years; the time flies by so quickly. The feedback we receive from our many partners alongside the results our young adults achieve strongly indicates that we are a school going places. I am writing this piece whilst celebrating with twenty two of our gifted and talented students at Kings College London where all have graduated in a Maths or a Philosophy programme. It is fantastic to see our young learners being so proud of their achievements and broadening their ambitions to attend a Russell Group University. Two students achieved a first class in their Maths assignments and four students received a special commendation for their outstanding work ethic.
